To a solution of TMG2Mequ (25.6 mg, 0.1 mmol, 2 eq.) in DCM (1 ml) a solution of [Cu(MeCN)4]PF6 (18.6 mg, 0.05 mmol, 1 eq.) in DCM (1 mL) was added. The resulting solution became instantly dark red. By slow diffusion of pentane (approx. 3 mL) the complex [Cu(TMG2Mequ)2]PF6 crystallized within a few days as dark red crystals.
