Ethyl (E)-2-(4-cyano-3-(3,3-diisopropyltriaz-1-en-1-yl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)acetate (428 mg, 1.40 mmol, 1.00 equiv) was dissolved in methylene chloride (30.0 mL). The solution was cooled to 0 °C and azido(trimethyl)silane (1.21 g, 1.39 mL, 10.5 mmol, 7.50 equiv) and 2,2,2-trifluoroacetic acid (1.59 g, 1.07 mL, 14.0 mmol, 10.0 equiv) were added. The reaction mixture was slowly warmed to 50 °C and stirred for 7 days.
