[1.1.1]Propellane (0.6 M in Et2O, 1.00 mL, 600 μmol, 1.00 equiv.) was added to a solution of 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzenethiol (192 mg, 780 μmol, 1.30 equiv.) in diethyl ether (1.00 mL) at 21 °C under argon atmosphere and the mixture was stirred for 1 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with pentane (10 mL), washed with 1 M NaOH solution (10 mL), dried by the addition of Na2SO4 and filtered. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The product was obtained as a yellow liquid.
