Selenium dioxide (42.8 mg, 386 μmol, 2.50 equiv) and 2-(4-(2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,9,9,9-heptadecafluorononyl)-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)-3-methylquinoxaline (100 mg, 154 μmol, 1.00 equiv) were dissolved in 1,4-dioxane (2.00 mL) and then tert-butyl hydroperoxide (21.8 mg, 30.8 μL, 170 μmol, 5.50M, 1.10 equiv) was added. The solution was stirred to 50 °C for 48 h. The solution was allowed to reach 21 °C. Methylene chloride (100 mL) and distilled water (100 mL) were then added and the aqueous layer was extracted 3x with methylene chloride (100 mL each time). The organic layers were combined and dried over Na2SO4. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure.
