To a solution of dry N,N-dimethylformamide (3.00 mL) and octan-1-ol (80.2 mg, 97.7 μL, 616 μmol, 1.10 equiv), potassium hydroxide (37.7 mg, 672 μmol, 1.20 equiv) was added under N2 atmosphere. Then 2-chloro-3-methylquinoxaline (100 mg, 560 μmol, 1.00 equiv) was added. The mixture was stirred at 21 °C for 12 h. Then ethyl acetate (20 mL) and distilled water (20 mL) were added. The organic layer was washed 3x (10 mL) with dist. water. The remaining aqueous layer was extracted 1x (10 mL) with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layer was dried over Na2SO4, filtered and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure.
