(E)-3-(2-(3-((3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,9,9,10,10,10-Heptadecafluorodecyl)oxy)quinoxalin-2-yl)vinyl)quinoxaline-2-carbaldehyde (900 mg, 1.16 mmol, 1.00 equiv), ((3-methylquinoxalin-2-yl)methyl)triphenylphosphonium bromide (871 mg, 1.74 mmol, 1.50 equiv) and sodium methoxide (314 mg, 5.81 mmol, 5.00 equiv) were mixed under argon. Then, dry methanol (9.00 mL) and dry methylene chloride (18.00 mL) were added and the reaction was heated to 50 °C for 12 h. Methylene chloride (50 mL) and distilled water (50 mL) were then added and the aqueous layer was extracted three times with methylene chloride (50 mL). The organic layers were combined and dried over Na2SO4. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure.
