2-Bromoquinoxaline (100 mg, 478 μmol, 1.00 equiv), dichloropalladium;triphenylphosphane (3.36 mg, 4.78 μmol, 0.0100 equiv) and copper(I) iodide (1.82 mg, 9.57 μmol, 0.0200 equiv) were loaded into a vial and dried for 1 h. Dry THF (1.0 mL) and triethylamine (145 mg, 200 μL, 1.44 mmol, 3.00 equiv) were added under argon atmosphere, and the resulting solution was degassed. A degassed solution of dried 2-ethynylquinoxaline (81.1 mg, 526 μmol, 1.10 equiv) in dry THF (1.0 mL) was then added dropwise to the vial. The reaction was stirred at 25 °C for 2.5 h. The crude mixture was filtered on celite, then 20 mL of 1 M HCl was added. The aqueous phase was extracted with ethyl acetate (3 x 30 mL) and the collected organic layers were dried on Na2SO4. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure.
