In a vial 5,15-dibromo-10,20-bis(4-ethoxycarbonylphenyl)porphyrin (15.0 mg, 19.6 μmol, 1.00 equiv), (3-methoxyphenyl)boronic acid (37.0 mg, 243 μmol, 12.4 equiv), tripotassium phosphate (104 mg, 491 μmol, 25.0 equiv) and Pd(PPh3)4 (2.7 mg, 2.4 μmol, 0.12 equiv) were put under Ar atmosphere, subsequently dissolved in 15 mL of dry THF and the mixture was stirred at 80 °C for 14.5 h. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (15 mL). After washing with saturated aqueous NaHCO3 solution (15 mL) and H2O (15 mL) the organic phase was dried over Na2SO4, filtered and the solvent removed under reduced pressure.
