3-(Dimethoxymethyl)quinoxalin-2-amine (25.0 mg, 114 μmol, 1.00 equiv) was dissolved in methylene chloride (2.00 mL) at 0 °C. Pyridine (27.1 mg, 27.6 μL, 342 μmol, 3.00 equiv) was added and 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-pentadecafluorocaprylyl chloride (98.6 mg, 56.6 μL, 228 μmol, 2.00 equiv) was added dropwise. The solution was stirred at 0° C for 30 min and was then allowed to reach 21 °C. Methylene chloride (50 mL) and distilled water (50 mL) were then added and the aqueous layer was extracted 3x with methylene chloride (25 mL each time). The organic layers were combined and dried over Na2SO4. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure.
