For crystallisation of the complex, the ligand C23H38N8 (23.5 mg, 55.0 μmol, 1.10 equiv) and dichlorocopper (6.72 mg, 50.0 μmol, 1.00 equiv) were diluted in MeCN (1 mL). The complex was precipitated by addition of Et2O (15 mL). The supernatant solution was decantated to remove the ligand excess. After that MeCN (1 mL) was added again and by slow diffusion of Et2O (10 mL) crystals of the complex C23H38Cl2CuN8 (6.80 mg, 12.1 μmol, 24% yield) were received.
