3-Methylquinoxaline-2-carbaldehyde (100 mg, 581 μmol, 1.00 equiv), 4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,9,9,10,10,11,11,11-heptadecafluoroundecane-1,2-diol (316 mg, 639 μmol, 1.10 equiv) and p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate (1.10 g, 5.81 mmol, 10.0 equiv) were dissolved in chloroform (3.00 mL). The solution was then stirred at 50 °C for 24 h. The solution was allowed to reach 21 °C. Methylene chloride (50 mL) and distilled water (50 mL) were then added. The aqueous layer was extracted with methylene chloride x3 (50 mL) each time . The combined organic layers were combined, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure.
