12-((3-Methylquinoxalin-2-yl)oxy)dodecan-1-ol (90.0 mg, 261 μmol, 1.00 equiv), tert-butyl-chloro-dimethyl-silane (43.3 mg, 287 μmol, 1.10 equiv) and imidazole (19.6 mg, 287 μmol, 1.10 equiv) were dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide (2.00 mL). The reaction was stirred at 21 °C for 12 h. DMF was removed under strong vacuum first using hot water bath (55 °C). Methylene chloride (50 mL) and distilled water (50 mL) were added. Then the aqueous layer was extracted 3x with methylene chloride (50 mL each time). The organic layers were combined, dried over Na2SO4 and filtered. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure.
